This is a real gem in the remote Eastfjords of Iceland located on a riverbank where the river goes through a small canyon. It's a pretty basic pool with a hot and cold tub. Next to the pool is a hot spring and the water from the hot spring used to be used in the pool. Now it is used to heat up the water in the pool. A real hidden gem and still has a historic vibe to it!
Swimming pools are an integral part of Icelandic culture and has been ever since people started gathering in natural hot springs in the past. It's where people meet an talk about everything from the weather to politics. Entering one of those pools is really the easiest way to immerse yourself in the local culture.
PS. They're almost all geothermally heated!
