Dalatangi is a beautiful and unique destination in Iceland, located at the end of the narrow winding road that leads out of Mjóifjörður. There are two lighthouses there, with the older one having been built in 1895 by the Norwegian fishing operator and entrepreneur Otto Wathne. The older lighthouse is often open so feel free to peek inside for a little window into the past but make sure to leave things as they are - thank you! There is also a beautiful farm there, complete with an ornamental garden and greenhouse - and the last time I checked the people live there the whole year around (even though the fjord is completely cut off a few months every winter).
Even the drive there is stunning so if you find yourself in Mjóifjörður I highly recommend visiting Dalatangi!
