The Glenfinnan Viaduct doesn't need introducing for fans of Harry Potter.

The viaduct spans over 416 yards long and towers at a height of 100 feet, overlooking the River Finnan. It is the longest concrete railway bridge in Scotland!

Lots of people come her to see the train cross - you can check out the timetable in the link.

Out advice is to be there for when the train leaves Fort William if you want to see the steam and be at the carpark a good 30 minutes before it departs there to allow you to walk up to the vantage spot and be prepared to see it. The train takes about 15-20 mins to get there once it sets off.

There are other places to see the train on the way up to Mallaig (including at Mallaig station itself).
