Loch Ness is perhaps most famous for the legend of the Loch Ness Monster, or "Nessie" for short. It's a huge loch, second only to Loch Lomond in size, and it's incredibly deep too. In fact, it contains more water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined!
There's plenty going on around the loch, with walking paths, cycling and tourist centres for adults and children. Whether you believe in Nessie or not, Loch Ness is definitely worth passing by if you are in the area, although it isn't one of our favourites in Scotland.
We've provided a link to the centre, which is great for families.
