Iona is a small island located in Scotland's Inner Hebrides.

Despite its size though there's a lot to see and do - not least admire the most amazing white sandy beaches and clear waters.

The island also houses Iona Abbey, which was established in the 6th century by Saint Columba.

The crossing to Iona from Fionnphort on Mull is very short (15 minutes) but be sure to check the final crossing times if you are looking to spend the day on the island and aren't staying.

This really is a peaceful and tranquil spot.

Our favourite beach (North End Beach) is about a 30 minute walk from the Abbey: https://visitmullandiona.co.uk/listings/north-end-beach-walk/
