Tyrol Castle, also known as Castle Tirol, is a majestic fortress perched 2,000 feet above the valley floor in South Tyrol. Dating back nearly 1,000 years, this ancient stronghold captivates visitors with its ever-changing charm and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Inside, the castle houses a treasure trove of archaeological finds and religious artwork, including the oldest known painting of the Red Eagle, South Tyrol's coat of arms. Accessible only by foot, the hike to Tyrol Castle along the Falknerweg offers a picturesque journey through vineyards and past Brunnenburg Castle. Whether you're a history buff or just love a good castle, Tyrol Castle is sure to cast its spell on you.
