When I'll be back in Japan I will definitely consider this tips before planning my trip
VERY IMPORTANT: Get yourself a wise or revolut card to use internationally, I personally like to open an account in Japanese YEN and I would transfer some money to have in that account to use in Japan, Also remember to ALWAYS carry some cash as NOT all the places accepts card payments. I have a friend who went to Japan only with his cards and he couldn't withdrawal money as his cards didn't worked in Japan and somebody had to borrow him cash money for his trip.
English is not widely spoken, so don't forget to download the version offline of Google Translate before you go.
Pack light! yes! believe me, beside that Japan is a super futuristic city there are many stairs here and there, especially in the public transport you don't wanna find yourself walking around the city with your heavy suitcase.
Pack a good pair of shoes and avoid heels. In Japan you will be walking maaaany kilometers per day as there are an enormous amount of activities and things to see and do. Walking with easy and light footwear can make your holidays more pleasant!
Book activities and excursions in advance. We missed out so many because they were fully booked.
Check very well when you do your accommodation booking THE SIZE of your room, we didn't checked properly and we got a very very tiny one. Lesson learned!
