1. Plan ahead: Research and plan your itinerary in advance to make the most of your time in Cyprus. Consider visiting popular attractions like the ancient ruins of Kourion, the picturesque village of Omodos, or the stunning beaches of Fig Tree Bay.

2. Rent a car: While public transportation is available in Cyprus, renting a car can give you more flexibility to explore the island at your own pace. Make sure to familiarize yourself with local driving laws and road signs before hitting the road.

3. Pack appropriately: Cyprus has a Mediterranean climate, so pack light and breathable clothing for the warm summers. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. I personally packed also a pair of sport shoes to explore and walk in some rusty terrains and beaches with stones.

4. Try local cuisine: Cyprus is known for its delicious food, so be sure to sample traditional dishes like fish Meze, souvlaki, moussaka, and loukoumades. Don't miss out on trying Cypriot wine and halloumi cheese, which are local specialties. If you visit the lovely couple Andreas & Sofia in Paphos you will taste the REAL halloumi cheese made by her! Don't miss it!

5. Respect the culture: Cyprus has a rich history and culture, so be respectful of local customs and traditions. When visiting religious sites, dress modestly and follow any guidelines or rules that are in place.

  1. I rather telling you this before you go, so if you are an animal-loving person you are already prepared to see many stray cats everywhere in Cyprus. In fact the myth says that there are more cats than people living there! There are thousands of sanctuaries and places where they feed them and take care of them.

    1. My favorite souvenir to bring home was Halloumi cheese, also some local wine from Cyprus and olive oil. This three things are mandatory to taste and why not bring home, as they are DE-LI-CIOUS!

    2. Cyprus uses a Type G plug, which is the same as UK sockets. If you are coming from a country with another type of socket plug, bring an adapter or ask at the reception in your hotel to provide you with one of those or show you trick to adapt it with your pen.
