Instead of going to visit the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, try more local temples :

  • Start your day with marble temple and its golden buddha statue

  • Continue to Wat Saket the golden mount for one of the best 360 degrees views of Bangkok.

  • Just walk to the nearby photogenic Loha Prasat temple.

  • Continue downtown and take a khlong (canal) tour at Phra Arthit boat pier.

  • After the khlong you can have a lunch with the view of wat arun at the deck by arun residence.

  • After lunch you can walk to the flower market nearby.

  • Then instead of going to Chinatown you can visit Lhong 1919.

  • Finish your day with the visit of Wat Paknam and its giant Buddha statue (don't forget to visit inside, temple closes at 6pm).

  • Finish you day at Icon Siam and Asiatique in one of their numerous restaurants and bars.
