Instead of going to visit the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, try more local temples :
Start your day with marble temple and its golden buddha statue
Continue to Wat Saket the golden mount for one of the best 360 degrees views of Bangkok.
Just walk to the nearby photogenic Loha Prasat temple.
Continue downtown and take a khlong (canal) tour at Phra Arthit boat pier.
After the khlong you can have a lunch with the view of wat arun at the deck by arun residence.
After lunch you can walk to the flower market nearby.
Then instead of going to Chinatown you can visit Lhong 1919.
Finish your day with the visit of Wat Paknam and its giant Buddha statue (don't forget to visit inside, temple closes at 6pm).
Finish you day at Icon Siam and Asiatique in one of their numerous restaurants and bars.
