Wat Pha Lat is a hidden jungle temple tucked into the mountain along the way to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Old stone structures, intricate carvings, naga-flanked stairways and Buddhist statues dot the serene grounds, and a walkway over a sheetrock waterfall affords postcard-pretty views of Chiang Mai. Thetemple was seldom visited a few years ago, but word of its beauty spread among travellers and expats, and the Monk's Trail (a jungle path from the city to the temple) is now an open secret. Nowadays there's a parking nearby, some food stalls, so it's very easy to access. Best time to visit is early in the morning to avoid the crowds or after 4pm. It's open 6AM-6PM, and no need drone over there, just walk around in the jungle and enjoy the nature and the views! This place has a real feel of an Indiana Jones movie :)
