Located in the beautiful Kiso Valley of central Nagano Prefecture, Narai-juku presents an engaging mix of traditional and historical attractions. Visitors to Narai can explore the old wooden buildings along the Nakasendo avenue, including the preserved Edo period town house at the Nakamura Residence. There are six original water fountains, which still provide a refreshing refreshment for travelers. In addition, the area also features Shizume Jinja with its impressive torii gates, as well as Chozenji Temple, a graveyard containing 200 statues of Jizo, and a modern wooden bridge in the shape of a Japanese drum called Kisho Ohashi. With so much to see, Narai-juku is an interesting destination for both history and culture buffs.
