Wat Ratchathammaram (also known as Wat Sila Ngu) is a fascinating cultural attraction in Koh Samui, Thailand and a must-see for travelers. Its name translates to "Stone Snake Temple", making reference to the legendary Naga serpent. Visiting this temple provides an insight into Thai Buddhist traditions, with its ornate red clay tiles creating an eye-catching contrast against the tropical greenery. Notable features of the temple include the golden statue of Buddha in the Subduing Mara posture and several intricate carvings full of symbolism. In addition, visitors can explore smaller shrines dedicated to other deities and even experience the 'Tak Bat' ceremony, thus learning about Buddhism in an immersive way.
