The majestic Kanadorii of Yamanashi Prefecture is an iconic gate leading into the breathtaking Mount Fuji. Located just off the 137 and 139 interchanges, this beautiful archway stands 9.7 meters high and gives visitors a fantastic view of Japan's most iconic mountain. It was originally erected in 1788 following donations by local people of the Fuji Kyo sect and has since been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. The Godaido Noborimune-Fushi Shrine located nearby also provides visitors with a chance to experience the old customs of the region and learn more about the area's rich history. Despite its turbulent past,the Kanadorii stands strong and is a great spot to witness the beauty of Japan.
