The Grand Parade is an exciting and vibrant spot situated in central Cape Town. It is known for its bustling market culture, often filled with bustling traders selling a variety of wares and local products. As well as accommodating these traders, the square plays host to some major political rallies and was the first place Nelson Mandela addressed South African’s following his release from prison in 1990. Following extensive upgrades prior to the 2010 World Cup, the square has become a site where people can come to both shop and experience live entertainment, creating a space that is often buzzing with excitement.
