The Thung Bua Tong Fields are a whole 160 hectare section of mountain at the top of Doi Mae U-Kor Mount entirely covered with mexican sunflowers which have smaller flowers than the "classic" sunflowers. They are native from Central America and are called Dok Bua Tong in Thai. The flowering takes place from mid-October to mid-December but it is especially the month of November that there are the most flowers (obviously it depends on the weather). They attract a lot of people. The rest of the year, almost no one comes to visit this remote area. You can climb to the summit by stairs for the best view. Best time is during golden hour either sunset or sunrise where the flowers will get their superb yellow colour. If you have a drone, the views are even better from above!
