Visitors to Shizuoka Prefecture are invited to take part in one of Japan’s most unique sights, the Fuji Cemetery Cherry Blossom Festivals. This cemetery is home to thousands of cherry and plum trees that astonish visitors with a beautiful pink and white landscape at the base of Mt. Fuji. The cemetery stretches for two million square meters, allowing visitors to walk amongst the trees and take in the remarkable scenery. The festival is held in mid-April, when tourists can plan to enjoy hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties within the somber setting. As an added bonus, there’s an option to travel to and from the festival on bus from Shinjuku Station - the perfect addition to any trip!
