You might accidentally end up here when searching for the Te Waihou Blue Springs Walkway, but honestly, it’s a happy accident. That’s exactly what happened to me, and I’m glad it did. Unlike the main walkway, this is the spot where you can actually swim in the crystal-clear, icy-blue water.
Fair warning, though, it’s freezing. The water sits at a brisk 11 degrees year-round, so prepare for an instant wake-up call when you jump in. But if you’re craving a refreshing dip, this is the place to do it. It’s only a super short walk from the carpark, maybe 20–50 meters max, before you’ll reach a big swimming hole surrounded by lush greenery. Definitely a cool swim spot if you’re up for a cold plunge.
