A great little secret swim spot for a hot summer day. Braemar Springs, also known as Te Waiu o Pukemaire, is a fresh, spring-fed swimming hole in Whakatāne. The water flows straight from deep underground, making it icy cold and insanely refreshing, usually around 11°C, so it’s definitely a chill experience. It’s a solid spot for a quick dip or a relaxed picnic by the water. This place is a local favorite and a bit of a secret, so be sure to respect it and keep it tidy.
