LOVEEEE this walk, omg, it was so incredibly stunning and super family-friendly! It’s an out-and-back track, so you can start at Cove Road (near Waipu Cove) or Ding Bay, depending on your preference. If you’re starting at Cove Road like I did, you’ll need to walk through some ankle-deep water at the beginning, so keep that in mind.
The trail is about 5km return and has a few ups and downs, but it’s very beginner-friendly. As you walk along the coastline, you’ll be treated to the most vibrant blues of the ocean, it’s seriously magical. The rock formations here are also stunning, with pancake rocks that have unique textures. There are even a few signs explaining how they were formed.
I went in with low expectations and was so impressed. If you get the chance, I highly recommend making time for this one!
