The Manganui Gorge Track is super family-friendly and gives you all the rewards with barely any effort. The trail features a fancy new Gorge Suspension Bridge, which serves up some pretty incredible views over the gorge.
It’s a short and sweet 2.4 km return walk that leads up to Manganui Lodge. The track is well-formed and easy, winding through the bush with plenty of nice scenery along the way. If you’re visiting in winter, this area gets a solid dusting of snow, making it even more picturesque. The lodge itself is mostly used by skiers in the colder months, but it’s still a cool spot to reach before turning back. Whether you’re just stopping by for the bridge or doing the full walk, it’s an easy-going track with a big payoff in views. Definitely worth a quick detour!
