If you’re looking to stretch your legs while taking in the iconic views of Huka Falls, the Huka Falls Walkway is the perfect way to do it. The track is an easy 2.5-kilometer walk each way, following the Waikato River from the Huka Falls carpark to the falls. It’s a pretty chill and scenic walk, mostly flat with a mix of boardwalks and dirt paths, so you’re in for some relaxing stroll time with plenty of places to stop and take photos.
Along the way, you’ll get to enjoy views of the turquoise waters of the river, the surrounding lush greenery, and, of course, the impressive Huka Falls at the end. The path is well-marked, so you won’t have to worry about getting lost. It’s also a great way to experience the falls up close and from different angles, especially the viewing platform at the end, where you can get a front-row seat to the powerful surge of water rushing through the gorge.
