Mount Jimmy Simpson Jr. is a majestic peak located along the Icefields Parkway and a great half day hike/scramble with mind blowing views of Bow Lake and surrounding mountains.
While this is only a 6.6 km round trip, it certainly isn’t an easy one as it involves almost 900 meters of elevation gain, some scrambling sections, bushwhacking and basic route finding. But the views are well worth every step, so if you can spare a half day, it's certainly worth it!
PRO TIP:
The toughest part about the Jimmy Simpson Junior hike might be finding the actual beginning of the trail. Look for the orange/yellow markers along the lake to find the beginning of the hike. Make sure to download an offline map and check the map often, so you don't get lost.
