Bothwell Castle is a cool medieval ruin near Glasgow that saw some serious action during the Scottish Wars of Independence. Started in the 13th century but never quite finished, it was besieged multiple times and passed back and forth between Scottish and English forces. The Black Douglas family took over in the 14th century and did some renovations, adding a chapel and great hall. Today, you can wander around the spooky cells and impressive remains, imagining what life was like back in the day. Plus, the surrounding area is pretty picturesque, with the River Clyde nearby. So, if you're into history and exploring ancient castles, Bothwell Castle is definitely worth a visit!
