Melrose Abbey in Scotland is home to the heart of Robert the Bruce, a legendary Scottish hero. After his death in 1329, his heart was embalmed and taken on a journey to the Holy Land before being buried at the abbey. The heart had quite the adventure, even getting thrown ahead by Sir James Douglas during battle with a cry of "Lead on brave heart, I’ll follow thee." Eventually, the heart found its resting place at Melrose Abbey, almost 700 years after Robert the Bruce's request. So, if you're ever in the area, swing by and pay your respects to this noble heart with a fascinating history!
