The North Coast Trail in Cape Scott Provincial Park is a challenging and remote 44+ kilometre coastal hike through old-growth rainforest, along beaches, and across muddy bogs. It's like a rugged adventure with slippery slopes, rope-assisted climbs, and stunning ocean views.

This should only be attempted by experienced adventurers and you can expect to navigate technical terrain, deal with unpredictable weather, and encounter wildlife like wolves and black bears.

No reservations or permits are required for the trail itself, but you do need to book a water taxi to get to the trailhead and shuttle van to get back to your car.

The minimum hiking duration is 5 days; however, it is most typically done in 6 to 8 days.

It is recommended to wear gaiters and waterproof boots, as well as bringing a tarp for humidity management.

Make sure you have a tide chart to access the trail and avoid the more difficult high tide routes.

As with any long/overnight hike, make sure to properly research the trail so that you are properly prepared with the right gear and are aware of current trail conditions.

AllTrails hike is linked here.

This hike is rated as hard. Length 44.4 km, Elevation gain 1,298 m, Route type Point to point.
