Geysir, also known as The Great Geysir, is a famous geyser in Iceland that started forming around 1150 CE. Its eruptions can shoot boiling water up to 60 meters in the air, but nowadays they're pretty rare. The area also features the Strokkur geyser, which erupts more frequently and is often mistaken for Geysir. Both geysers are part of the Golden Circle tourist route in Iceland and have been popular attractions for centuries.
