This waterfall is one of the few waterfalls on Madeira island located on the west coast. During the summer season, you can expect the waterfall to be without water, dry. However, it is still a beautiful viewpoint with 180-degree view of the ocean. After some rainfall though, it becomes an absolutely beautiful, full of water, 140-meter-high waterfall.
There is a small parking lot right before the short hike towards the viewpoint. It’s only about 10 minutes walking until you reach the viewpoint of the waterfall. Few steps further you will see the Ponta do Pargo cliff with a 180-degree view of the Atlantic Ocean.
