This 3.1 mile loop is considered a challenging route due to its steep and rooty climb from the Pauanui Beach Road car park. It requires an average of 2 h 17 min to complete, and is beautiful any time of year. If you're up for a challenge, this trail is worth experiencing. Be sure to check the tide times ahead of time; as this hike has portions exposed to the sea. Keep in mind that dogs are not allowed on the trail.
