Serra da Arrábida ("Arrábida sierra / mountain chain") is home to the Arrábida Narural Park, a protected area in the southernmost margin of the Setúbal peninsula. It is also characterized by its amazing beaches, such as Galapinhos, Portinho da Arrábida and Figueirinha.
A car ride from the Sesimbra area all the way to the city of Setúbal through Serra da Arrábida provides visitors with amazing views with the contrasting juxtaposition between the green forest and the blue Atlantic Ocean.
Another remarkable landmark along the way worth visiting is Convento de Nossa Senhora da Arrábida ("Convent of Our Lady of Arrábida"), an old monastery established in the 16th century.
