The Ferrocarril de Sóller is an interurban railway on the Spanish island of Mallorca, running between Palma and Sóller. Known as the Orange Express, it winds through mountains and tunnels, offering a scenic journey for over 1 million passengers annually. The Palma station is small and charming, while the Sóller station is larger and houses a tram to Port de Sóller and a museum featuring works by Picasso and Joan Miró. In 2019, there was a controversial takeover bid for the railway by an anonymous group of investors, but local shareholders are determined to keep their treasured railway intact.
