Basteibrücke, situated in the Saxon Switzerland National Park in eastern Germany, is a stunning bridge that is perfect for a day trip. The deep gorge carved out from the Elbe river has left breathtaking views of towering sandstone pillars and pinnacles reminiscent of Meteora, Greece and Cappadocia, Turkey. A hike through the park reveals a variety of landscapes with forests, flowers, and eroded stone pillars glimmering in the golden light. Visitors can also take a boat ride down the Elbe River to explore nearby towns with medieval houses and plaques remembering Napoleon's visit in 1813.The park is open 24 hours per day and welcomes hikers of all levels. With no entrance fee and plenty of amenities--such as restaurants, snack bars, souvenir shops, and the Berghotel Bastei--everyone can have a magical experience here.
