Around three thousand years ago, Grábrók volcano erupted in West Iceland, and it formed three craters in its vicinity: Grábrók, Rauðbrók, and Smábró. Among these, Grábrók is the largest crater.
A brisk walk from the parking lot to the top of the crater and back again takes about 40 minutes. Once at the top, you will have an incredible view of the Borgarfjordur countryside and the encircling mountains.
