The famous Northern most part of NZ!
The Cape Reinga Lighthouse, located in New Zealand's Northland Region, is a popular tourist spot and iconic landmark. Built in 1941, it replaced the older Cape Maria Van Diemen Lighthouse for safety reasons. The lighthouse was automated in 1987 and now runs on solar power, flashing its beacon every 12 seconds for 19 nautical miles. While visitors can't go inside the lighthouse itself, they can still enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding area. It's definitely a must-see if you're exploring the North Island!
How long will it take? This is a 300m 10-minute walk suitable for wheelchairs, buggies and people of any age. Walk a short distance to the lighthouse to experience outstanding views of our northern coast.
