A spectacularly beautiful lake with a huge dam, a boat house where you can hire paddle boards and canoes (or launch your own from) a fantastic nature inspired play area for the kiddos, a sculpture trail, a beach and picnic area and two waterfall walks and it's very own chocolate cabin - family days out don't get much better than this!
Lake Vyrnwy is actually a reservoir which was built in the 1880s by flooding the Vyrnwy valley submerging the village of Llanwddyn which can sometimes be seen in the summer when the water levels get low!
There is so much to do and explore in this area from getting out on the lake on your SUP or kayaks to hiking in the beautiful surrounding woodlands, or even hiring a bike and cycling round the lake.
