One of the road trips that you can do when you go to Chiloé is to start from Ancud and go down the coastal route towards Castro, passing through Manao, Quemchi, Dalcahue, the Tocoihue Waterfalls and finally arriving at Castro, you can do this tour starting early in one day and of course if you want to take it easy more days in each place.
And a mandatory stop on this route is Isla Aucar, or Isla de las Almas Navegantes. Francisco Coloane, a writer born in Quemchi, says that on this island there are buried dead who hope to set sail one day like a ship.
This is because on the island there is a small church and a cemetery. To get there, they only have to cross the 500-meter walkway that connects it with the Isla Grande de Chiloé.
