消息来自 Octavia Viajando

Chilean Patagonia never stops discovering!

This time we arrived at Navarino Island, with 2 goals: the first to reach Puerto Williams with Octavia, the southernmost city in Chile, and the second, to travel the Dientes de Navarino, the southernmost trekking in the world! In that we were 5 days of intense trekking.

It is not a long circuit but it is demanding, hard passes between mountains in which you have to be very focused. Nature once again accompanied us on our adventures, something that not even I could believe, a spectacular climate allowed us to enjoy all the views while we lost ourselves in these pristine landscapes at the end of the world, between rivers, lagoons, forests and peat bogs.

I would say that it is a trek of high difficulty, you must be prepared physically, to walk over stones and cross hills with weight, and mentally (especially if you have vertigo like me) to be able to continue even in the most difficult steps.

I leave you information about the trekking and some tips for when you visit Navarino:

• Suitable time: from December to March • Duration: 5 days - 4 nights • Total distance: 31 km • Difficulty: Medium - High • Cost: You do not have to pay entrance to the reserve, the main expense is the way to get to Puerto Williams, which can be by sea or air. • You must inform the police station on the day of departure and arrival, leave all your information and notify when you return that everything is ok. • Starting point 4 km from the center, at the beginning of the trail to Cerro la Bandera.

  • Final point 7 km from the center.

Tips: take GPS with the downloaded route, poles, clothes and a bag in dry bags, extra food in case you have to wait more days if the weather conditions worsen, thermal blanket, first aid kit, never drink stagnant water, waterproof/goretex clothing , 3 or 4 season tent, and a good sleeping bag for temperatures below zero.
