Goldstream is a fantastic spot for forest photography. Plenty of old-growth western red cedars and towering bigleaf maples create a lush, moody atmosphere. While Niagara Falls is the main attraction, the area has so much more to offer, especially if you take the time to explore beyond the usual stops.
Not far from the parking area on Highway 1, you’ll find a large campground. In the off-season, this quiet space is perfect for wandering with a camera, especially in autumn when the maples light up with golden leaves. Some beautiful woodland trails are winding through the campground, offering excellent opportunities for forest photography. At the far end of the campground, there’s a small but picturesque waterfall that’s easy to reach and well worth checking out.
Goldstream is a great spot to combine with other park areas, making it a perfect day trip.
