Message from Deborah + Tyler

There are multiple ways to get up close to this glacier depending on the season you're visiting. During the summer months you can take a boat ride to get up close to the glacier or head out on a hike, and in the winter you can either hike, ski, or bike across the frozen lake, about three miles each way. If you do plan a visit in the winter, it's important to ensure that the ice is thick enough to traverse, so I only recommend going if you see others making their way across. Watch our winter visit here.
