Saxhóll Crater is a popular attraction on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula of Iceland, located just 9 km (5.5 mi) south of Hellissandur. It stands approximately 100 m (100 ft) high with a useful walking path and steps that make it easy for visitors to ascend and enjoy its incredible scenic views from the top. This crater is a great alternative to visiting the nearby Eldborg crater which requires a longer hike. At Saxhóll, guests can get an up-close opportunity to observe a crater that was formed from molten magma shooting from the earth and shaping the local terrain.
