Morro Rock is an iconic natural landmark located in Morro Bay, California. It is one of a group of nine volcanic peaks known as the "Nine Sisters" or "Morros" that extend along the central coast of California. Morro Rock stands out as the most prominent and recognizable of these formations, at 581-feet, and it holds both geological and cultural significance.

On the Pacific Coast overlooking the bay’s entrance, a causeway connects the rock to the shore, making it a tied island. An incredibly diverse habitat for flora and fauna, it provides a sanctuary for peregrine falcons and a wide variety of tide pool animals. The rock was once an important landmark to Salinan and Chumash tribes, and today, it is a State Preserve and a California Historical Landmark, attracting visitors from all around who enjoy walking along its impressive shoreline and taking in the breathtaking views.

Visitors to Morro Rock can enjoy various recreational activities in the area, including hiking, birdwatching, and beachcombing. The adjacent Morro Strand State Beach provides opportunities for sunbathing, picnicking, and water sports.
