Portglenone Forest Park is a beautiful woodland located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It covers an area of approximately 600 acres and is situated on the banks of the River Bann.

The woodland is home to a diverse range of trees, including oak, beech, and ash. There are several walking trails that wind through the forest.

Stroll along the riverbanks to snap picturesque photos of the area. Explore the trails, the swing bridges and take in the beautiful views of the blooming trees in the springtime. Spring is my favourite time to visit Portglenone Forest, particularly April when the forest is carpeted with bluebells! It’s so beautiful!

The forest park also provides a habitat for various wildlife species, including red squirrels, badgers, and a wide variety of bird species. This is a great park to spot kingfishers, herons, and woodpeckers.

There is a historic watermill located within the park, which dates back to the 19th century. The watermill has been restored and now serves as a visitor center, providing information about the park's history and offering refreshments.

🧺 The park has picnic areas and a children's play park, making it a great destination for families.

💦 There are also facilities for fishing and boating on the River Bann, allowing you to enjoy water-based activities when you visit.

💚 As with any natural area please follow the principles of Leave No Trace, respecting the environment and wildlife.
