Whiterocks Beach is a stunning destination located along the Causeway Coast. White Rocks is a two mile stretch of sandy beach starting (or ending) in Portrush at the East Strand beach. The beach is accessed by a boardwalk and the white limestone make for a stunning backdrop! Located a short distance from the Giant’s Causeway, it’s a postcard perfect beach and one of my favourite spots for sunrise.

With stunning views stretching out for miles on end, it is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the beautiful natural landscape of the coast. Unparalleled rock formations like Shelagh's Head and the Wishing Arch add to an already remarkable view. The dunes are very high, offering good sledding opportunities. You’re going to love this beach!

⚠️Things to know

🚗Free Car parking available

At the far end of the beach you will find arches, caves and waterfalls including the Elephant Rock, the Lion’s Paw, Shelagh’s Head, and the Wishing Arch. Many caves are accessible only from the sea: when visiting, Please check tide times very carefully.

Top Travel Tips:

  • The nearby ruins of Dunluce Castle are not to be missed and make for an excellent photo opportunity.

  • Thanks to its perfect location, plenty of great food and accommodation options are available in nearby Portrush. Whether you're looking to spend some quality time alone, with family, or friends, Whiterocks Beach is a wonderful stop you won’t want to miss along the breathtaking Causeway Coast.

💚 As with any natural area please follow the principles of Leave No Trace, respecting the environment and wildlife.
