The stunning Waterfall Walkway at Glenariff Forest Park opened over 80 years ago. Covering over 2928 acres, this is one of my favourite forest parks in Northern Ireland. Located just a 10 min drive from Cushendall. The walk passes through a National Nature Reserve. There are three waterfalls and forest trails that offer picturesque panoramic views and relaxing riverside walks.

Trails to visit at Glenariff:

Scenic Trail: 5.5miles

The Trail takes you through mature woodland, along steep sided river gorges with waterfalls and open moorland. This trail also takes you past a steep river gorge and spectacular waterfalls. One of the highlights of this walk is the views of Mull of Kintyre on a clear day.

The viewpoint Trail: 0.6miles

This is a short walk through woodland and stunning gardens. It’s one to take if you are struggling for time.

This trail starts at the car park through mature stand of larch trees to a view point on the edge of the Glen. From here you can enjoy views of the 'U' shaped glacially formed glen. It’s a must see! The vista includes views across the sea you can see the Mull of Kintyre. The trail then goes past the cafe and takes a route through mature woodland and ornamental gardens before returning you back to the cafe and car park.

The Rainbow Trail: 2.3miles

This is actually what I call a detour trail. It’s along the very popular Waterfall Walk through Glenariff Forest Park.

It includes crossing the Rainbow Bridge and taking a trail along the banks of the Glenariff River. Many varieties of woodland flowers such as , wood sorrel, bluebell and wood anemone can be seen in the spring time here. The trail then turns deeper into the mature broadleaved woodland before it brings you back to the river.

The Waterfall Trail: 1.9 miles

From Glenariff Forest Park follow the way marked trail down the steps, along the boardwalks through Glenariff Nature Reserve. Walk through the river gorge and past spectacular waterfalls. Damp conditions ideal for ferns, mosses and liverworts with several rare species present.

📌Ess-Na-Crub Waterfall & Altnagowna waterfall are a must-see in my opinion. Located in the Glenariff Forest Park of Northern Ireland, this 35-foot fall is perfect if you’re looking for a short and scenic trip. The trail leading to both these waterfall ste short and enjoyable walk . With wonderful views and plenty of photo opportunities.

🅿️ parking : Car - £5.00

The park is open 24 hours a day, to those visiting on foot. The car park gates open at 08:00 and lock at dusk each night.

☕️The Glenariff Forest Park Teahouse is a picturesque spot for a coffee!

🍽️ Laragh Lodge Is a great restaurant for dinner after your day adventuring.

❄️One of the my favourite forest parks to visit in winter!

💚 As with any natural area please follow the principles of Leave No Trace, respecting the environment and wildlife.
