Café Fledermaus, located in the basement of the Neue Galerie, draws inspiration from the iconic Cabaret Fledermaus with its marble walls and black and white checkered floor tiles. The café features tables and chairs designed by Josef Hoffmann and adorned with a butterfly textile by Dagobert Peche. Serving the same menu as Café Sabarsky, Café Fledermaus offers gourmet coffee, fine pastries, and a cozy ambiance reminiscent of early 20th-century Vienna. Reservations are not required, so if you can't get a spot at Sabarsky upstairs, you will likely get a spot here. I love the intense decor, even though it does feel like it is in a basement!
