Even though my son is a huge fox fan, we ultimately decided to skip Zao Fox Village. While the idea of seeing 100+ foxes running around sounds amazing (especially those six different species), we had some concerns about the ethics of it all. But I still wanted to include it just in case it wasn't on your radar.

The setup sounds Instagram-perfect - foxes roaming "freely" in this mountain setting, plus the usual petting zoo suspects like bunnies and mini horses. And that 1000 yen entry fee is pretty tempting.
