The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, located in Shinjuku, offers two free observatories—North and South—providing panoramic views of Tokyo. Visitors can see landmarks like Mount Fuji, Tokyo Skytree, and Tokyo Tower on clear days.
Access:
By Train:
Tochomae Station: Direct access from Exit A4 on the Toei Oedo Line.
Shinjuku Station: Approximately a 10-minute walk from the West Exit of JR Shinjuku Station.
Operating Hours:
South Observatory:
Open daily from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
Closed on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
Note: The South Observatory will be open on January 1, 2025, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with last entry at 5:00 PM.
North Observatory:
Closed from November 1, 2024, to January 2025 for renovations.
Admission:
Free of charge.
