This is the place where I live and where most of the westerns live too. Still, you can see a lot of folklore in daily life with little shops and restaurants but also plenty of cafes and western atmosphere. It is an interesting mix and I can only recommend to explore and get lost in the streets

More Info: The Shanghai French Concession was a foreign concession that lasted from 1849 to 1943, during which its area gradually expanded over the later 19th and early 20th centuries. It was an area of special economic and political significance in the heart of Shanghai, covering what is now Huangpu district and Xuhui district. It served as a residential and retail district for foreigners, as well as being home to high-end stores and restaurants, upscale neighborhoods, and some of Shanghai's most prominent Catholic churches. Despite modern development in the area, its legacy remains and it is still a popular tourist destination. Its most noteworthy feature was the introduction of London Plane trees onto Avenue Joffre (now Huaihai Road), giving the street a unique character as well as earning the plane tree its Chinese name, the "French Plane".
