The Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre is an iconic facility located along the Alaska Highway in Whitehorse, Yukon. It boasts an impressive history with its unique design, combining elements of the North Canadian vernacular with the "spare, yet elegant" structure found in the kayak frames, tents and fish skeletons that so often dot the Yukon landscape. Founded in 1992, it has since become a place of intrigue and natural discovery as visitors are welcomed to explore the First Nations' and scientific histories of the vast sub-continent called Beringia. From amazing dioramas of extinct ice age animals, to complete skeletons of iconic animals, to a life-sized replica of the hotly debated Bluefish Caves archaeological site, the Centre has something for everyone. Be sure to plan a visit to experience the wonders of the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre!

Eryn's Tips:

  • The Beringia Centre recently got a facelift with new exhibits and I am so excited to go and check it out! They also offer cool workshops and events that are perfect for the entire family :)

  • Make sure you take a picture with the mammoths and giant beaver outside by the parking lot and try out the atlatl throwing while you're there!
