Galdhøpiggen, Norway's highest mountain peak, is an amazing and rewarding destination to hike. Hikers of all backgrounds can experience a trek to the summit with its two routes starting from Juvasshytta mountain lodge or Spiterstulen. The route from Juvasshytta requires a guide due to its glacier crossing but the route from Spiterstulen does not, though hikers should be aware that it is still a strenuous 13 km journey with an ascent of about 1,300 metres. The trek up the trail ends with incredible views of Norway, and the spectacular summit cabin provides shelter if needed along the way. A challenging yet beautiful journey, Galdhøpiggen is definitely a great addition to any hiker's list of outdoor destinations.
