This trip isn't about the destination, it's about the journey. Selárdalur is a beautiful valley, but the drive there is gorgeous. Specially if you have a panorama roof on your car. The road itself is ok, it's a gravel road, so just be careful. If you're driving, make sure to find a place to stop to admire the view since it can be dangerous to get too amazed while driving. We stopped at a random beach we found beautiful along the way. Somewhere on the way there was a very tiny "village" (or just a bunch of houses close to each other) that was full of arctic terns. There is an interesting museum at the end of the road, well worth the visit.
